The Normal Christian Life

The following quote is from Watchman Nee's (yes, his real name) book "The Normal Christian Life" and is something I've found extremely valuable.

Speaking on Faith

"If we resort to our senses to discover the truth, we shall find Satan's lies are often enough true to our own experience; but if we refuse to accept as binding anything that contradicts God's Word and maintain an attitude of faith in Him alone, we shall find instead that Satan's lies begin to dissolve and that our experience is coming progressively to tally with that Word."

In other words, when feelings and emotions and experiences contradict God's Word, they are false. If we refuse to give life to such feelings and maintain "an attitude of faith in Him alone" we'll see those feelings melt away and our experiences will begin to align more and more with God's Word.

I love this word of encouragement.
