Busy bee

A lot going on this week. (Happy New Year by the way!) Wrapping up a magazine style print piece for Summit on top of some video work. So I'm staying busy.

Here's a thought from yesterday's reading in Acts 7.

God allows Stephen's death at the hands of an angry mob. That mob, led by Saul (soon to be Paul...God is ironic) then turns on other Christians in Jerusalem. Christians in turn flee, taking with them the good news of the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth, fulfilling at least in part the great commission which was given 6 chapters earlier. ( I say in part because it's a command that doesn't stop being a command until people stop being born)

Stephen's faith-filled, Spirit-inspired obedience, even unto death, leads to the gospel spreading out into the entire known world.  God is sovereign. He wills to use us to carry out his plan. Doesn't mean that it'll be pretty. But God WILL be glorified in us if we let Him.

I love this plan. It's hard to swallow but it's amazing to see God at work. God even allows Stephen a glimpse of His glory, prior to death. Talk about a boost of faith to see His plan through.

Sorry I know this is ramblyish but I like think/typing sometimes.  Oh one other thing. If God commands us to do it, (like the Great Commission) He's still the One in charge of getting it done. We can obey and experience the joy and privilege or we can step out of the way and miss out...but God's plan will be accomplished.

Acts is awesome...go read Stephen's speech (chapter 7) to the Jewish council for what it looks like to be saturated with Scripture and filled with the Holy Spirit. I want that kind of power and fruit in my life.
